"Surely there is something in the unruffled calm of nature that overawes our little
anxieties and doubts; the sight of the deep blue sky, and the clustering stars above,
seem to impart a quiet to the mind."--Jonathan Edwards
We had opportunity this time last week to gather--mom, dad, kids, kids-in-law, five grandkids--at the beach, drinking in of the unruffled calm of nature, quieting the busyness for a few days, playing and savoring. Our emotional tanks were filled, helping to prepare us for the days ahead.
A few favorite snapshots:
Hope you're finding space for unruffled calm as well! Happy rest of the weekend...

Nice photos. They do convey the calm. There is something so soothing and peaceful about the ocean, isn't there?
ReplyDeleteI looks so peaceful. I can see why it refilled the energy stores!
ReplyDeleteWater views are great - so soothing, and probably inspiring for writers. Sounds like you had a lovely vacation!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Elizabeth, Southpaw and Peggy--yes, peaceful, soothing, and restorative are all great descriptions. In addition, having shared it with five little ones seven years old and younger, you have to add the word energizing. Really a compatible word with the others when you think of it :-) Thanks for stopping by, all!
ReplyDeleteLooks delightful! So glad you had a nice time with your gang. That is precious indeed. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Karen :-) Wishing you a delightful day back!
