Butterfly Garden December 2013 |
"One must maintain a little bit of summer even in the middle of winter." --Thoreau
My contribution to Thoreau's idea, butterfly wind chimes in a winter's garden. Any summery touches in your wintry world?
Just wonderin'....
May your hearts be warm though your feet be cold!

No summer here, alas.
ReplyDeleteSummer's in short supply here, too, Cathy, but tonight we've got a warm fire going in the wood stove and the promise of a bowl of popcorn here soon. Hope you're staying warm over your way :-) Thanks for dropping by,,,
DeleteHow pretty! Our house doesn't have any summery touches, unless you count a few forgotten toys in the backyard :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jess. And I'm guessing come spring you'll find those lost toys in a few surprising places!
DeleteHmm... We'd have to dig under about six inches of snow to find it. I did see a primrose blooming at Thanksgiving, but that's covered now.
ReplyDeleteBut here's a touch of summer for all of us. My late father-in-law used to remind us that once we got past December 21st, the days would start getting longer again. I find that I don't think much about winter until after New Years. And by that time, we're already ten days past the solstice. Well on our way to spring -- and summer.
Merry Christmas (or Happy Holidays) to everyone here!
Peggy
Peggy, it is hard to get too down on winter while getting ready for the holiday season, isn't it? And like you say by the time we get in the depths of it we are already inching closer to spring...ah, hope dawns again!
DeleteMerry Christmas to you, too. And wishing you a bright and blessed 2014. Keep writing!
