Description: Looking Through a Different Lens

"You can take for granted that people know more or less what a street, a shop, a beach, a sky, an oak tree look like. Tell them what makes this one different." --Neil Gaiman

Just dropping in with a quote and a writing link with great advice that I came across this week: 5 Ways into a Story, by Quinn Dalton at Writer Magazine. Quinn writes about, among other things, finding the character, listening to voice, and following the image. Lots of good stuff to think about.

Enjoy!

  2. LOVE the quote! And your illustration ... they're all cows, but boy are they ever different.

  3. Thanks, Barbara and Cathy :-) The quote spoke to me, too. Hope it will continue to inspire us all in the upcoming week! The photo came from a shelf display we saw in a small breakfast nook in a motel in Velden, Austria last November during an overseas trip we were blessed to be able to take. I was playing around with the panoramic setting just to see what I could capture. Didn't know at the time how I would use it, but turns out it was kind of fun to run it with this quote...

  4. Adorable photo and wonderful quote! I hadn't heard that one before, but I do like some of Neil Gaiman's work, so it doesn't surprise me. I'll have to give it some thought!
