Gorgeous tree! And I love that quote. We missed our chance to go see the height of the aspen in the mountains here...the weekends just got away from us when school started. Maybe next year :)
Oh, Jess, I bet the aspens would be beautiful :-) I've been in Colorado twice but never in the fall, so I never had a chance to see their colors. Maybe someday!
And thanks, Catherine. I hope you have a lovely display of color when the season comes around for you :-) (Texas, right?)
Our trees are changing - some beautiful in the woods along the roads, some that have lost their leaves already. Autumn is one of my favorite seasons. It reminds me of a quote from a Robert Frost poem. We loved it so much we had it read at my mother-in-law's funeral some years back. I love the parallel to letting go of seasons, of people...
Ah, when to the heart of man Was it ever less than a treason To go with the drift of things, To yield with a grace to reason, And bow and accept the end Of a love or a season?

ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture of that tree. Ours are still green but beginning to turn. They won't look like this until November.

Oh it's beautiful! I didn't realize how much I missed the trees and change in color until I have seen it again!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Terri :-) The tree is up the road from my house, along my walking route. Glad you're back where you can see the fall beauty, too!
