Thanks for sharing and encouraging! :) Karen Langehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18177923284595298347noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1134040229227913313.post-66938078197047633222014-08-10T08:45:17.897-04:002014-08-10T08:45:17.897-04:00Fantastic endorsement from the contest judge, Cath...Fantastic endorsement from the contest judge, Cathy! That should settle the question as to whether or not you are a writer :-) Keep writing, keep having fun, and rest assured you are a storyteller--and apparently a good one at that! Thanks for the update. Your experience passes encouragement along to the rest of us...Kenda Turnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12972218446945404475noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1134040229227913313.post-5590567192967148272014-08-09T23:51:42.826-04:002014-08-09T23:51:42.826-04:00I plan my stories to the nib, because that is so, ...I plan my stories to the nib, because that is so, so, so much fun for me ... but by your definition, I think that makes me a writer, not a storyteller. But once I have a rock solid structure on which to pin the artistry, I have so, so , so much fun with that as well.

Frankly, I've often wondered if I'm a writer at all, much less a storyteller, due to all of the analysis that goes into my stories prior to, and during, the writing.

But that, apparently, doesn't show in the final product. I was quite pleased when a contest judge, an editor for the line I'm targeting, said about my piece, that, (among other things), "the author is a storyteller."

Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16900383840255608898noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1134040229227913313.post-54512960341078466132014-08-09T22:16:06.461-04:002014-08-09T22:16:06.461-04:00Elizabeth, so glad you enjoyed this and, more impo...Elizabeth, so glad you enjoyed this and, more importantly, so glad you are enjoying writing again! Sometimes we do have to step back a little but then we get perspective and dive back in. Awhile back I was stressing due to trying to write articles to please an agent (she hoped that would make my historical mystery more marketable), and during that time, I really was starting to dislike writing! We've parted ways recently, and amicably, but one of the first things I noticed was that I got all enthused about writing my book(s) again. And, yes, I'm having fun again. Thanks for the great reminder of what it's all about. And thanks for the links, too. I will hurry over and explore them.Elizabeth Varadan, Authorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01708206753256682635noreply@blogger.com
